who is nicole dollanganger u ask? well she's my favourite singer!! she is from canada (like me!!) and has released 7 studio albums! her music is described as "lo-fi", "folk" and "atmospheric" and she is also associated with the folk pop, bedroom pop, dream pop, and slowcore genres. she's been releasing music since 2011. she first started posting her songs on tumblr which she recorded herself in her bedroom! she has produced her first four albums by herself. then she got signed to grimes label eerie organization which released natural born losers (2015) and heart shaped bed (2018). her latest album married in mount airy (2023) was self released.

i first found out about nicole on instagram where someone i follow posted about her songs and her voice really intrigued me! i first listened to her in september of 2021 but didn't become a huge fan until she released MIMA in january 2023. she's been my favourite ever since. i relate so heavily to her lyrics and find that they really speak to me. she writes about sexuality, romance and true crime which are topics that heavily influence my own writing.
